    1. И вам спасибо на добром слове 🙂
Кстати, это действительно самое интересное в колоризации, когда вдруг ррраз – и человек смотрит на тебя, как живой. Иногда до жути 🙂
      К сожалению, не всегда получается..

      1. Glad you enjoyed the Jean Harlow video. It is a pleasure to showcase your superb work and bring it to life. I would love to make Klimbim videos some time in the future of Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich and anyone else you may choose. I have only a few of your images (some rather small) but if you have any large photos, they would be most welcome. Thank you for your time Olga. Wishing you a Happy New Year!

      2. Happy New Year to you!
Not all images I’ve colored are HQ but if you point the pics you want I will see whether I have larger versions 🙂

  11. Thank you for the link to your Jean Harlow photos. I will save them in my archive for use in future videos (with your permission of course!). I promise I will not share your images with anyone else or post them on the internet. They will only be exhibited in my video presentations for the public to enjoy. I seek no reward because I only make my videos to give pleasure to others.

I will send you some small images very soon to see if you have larger versions. I will send these as email attachments (if that is all right with you). Will be in touch soon, Olga. Thank you!

  12. Hi Klimbim, your works are perfect. However interestingly, how you choose color when colorizing some object. Do you choose color previously knowing the color for object that is to be colorized or maybe your choice is quite arbitrary ( as if you choose merely preferable color for you ) ? The first option would mean any algorithmic actions.

    Like

    1. Hi Isaac, it depends on the object. For example when I colorize uniforms I have to search for info about the colours or ask experts. So I’m not free in choosing colours. When I colorize a dress on a 1890s photo, I look what colours were fashionable an that time. When I have no limitations I play with colours looking for the best combination. It’s really quite arbitrary but a couple of years ago I translated a book about colours and hope that something from it is left in my head 🙂

  13. Hi Klimbim,

My father is a big fan of your work. Sorry for being rude, I know you are doing it just for hobby but is it possible if you could help color an old photo B&W of my parents? It’s ok if it’s for a price. If yes, then can I send you a picture for preview?

Hope to hearing from you soon.
    Thanks very much

    1. Hello Tri, I’m glad your father likes my colourings.
You are right, I do private commissions not often. Not every image is good for colouring etc.
Please send me a preview to klimbim@yandex.ru and I will tell you if I can colorize it.

  17. Dear Klimbim,
I am very impressed with your work. As a schoolteacher, I am preparing a book about German occupation of my town in Northern France. Since it targets high school students, will be sold at production cost so there is no commercial objective of earning money.
In this context, could I use one of your colorized photographs?
Of course I would mention you as a source.
    Thanking you beforehand,
    With kindest regards,

  18. Hi,
I’m one of the creators of the YouTube history documentary channel TimeGhost History https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost I work together with Indy Neidell and we created The Great War together https://www.youtube.com/user/TheGreatWar – the most extensive documentary series covering WWI ever created. I’m a huge fan of your work. Right now we’re producing a series about the years 1919-39 called Between 2 Wars, obviously we’re talking a lot about Russia in this series. We’re using few of your amazing images in the next episode and I wanted to ask if there is anything we can do in the form of linkage to give you the right credit (we will put references in the video description in any case of course). Also I saw in the comment string that it could be possible to get the pictures in high res without watermark, that would be amazing. In September we will start WW2 in real time and I hope that we will be able to use more of your fantastic pictures.
You make great stuff! Best colouring work I’ve ever seen.

  21. Hi Klimbim,

I have spent quite a few hours looking at your work, returning back again and again, some of that photos literally getting “pressed” into memory. Do not know how to say thank you enough.. but feel that “God bless you” will do.

I also wonder if you would be able to fix and colour 2 old photos, our grandfathers, Soviet Union time…

    Thank you again, Sergei

  22. I came across a beautiful rendering you did of a famous photo with Rasputin seated next to Hermogen and Iliodor.
As a fellow hobbyist, I am about to self-publish my late grandfather’s 1961 thesis (never published but cited by several historians including Joseph Fuhrmann) on Rasputin’s path through the church and into the court–dispelling myths and traditional gossip about his influence. I was wondering if you mind me using it? This is not for *mainstream* commercial use. The image would go on the title page, grayscale if you prefer, and the rest of the book is just text. I could just reproduce the enhanced image without color, crediting you. Is this okay?

  23. Hi Olga. I’ve been following your work for a while now, and I am so very impressed by your quite incredible work. I’ve just read through all of these comments (and saw the one by Spartacus – I’ve been watching their YouTube series for some time and often think of your work). This is only to say thank you for your beautiful creations. You breath life into these old images in a way I’ve never seen before. Thanks as well for the links to those youtube videos in Photoshop. I’ll have to walk through them with my own family photographs.
